The smoke alarms that are dual sensors are just the combination of ionization and photoelectric sensors into one unit. Both sensors of some dual sensors are required to go off in order for the alert sound to be detected but they cause delay. Only one sensor is required to tripped in order to sound the alarm in other models of dual sensor smoke alarms.

Another important tip is that the alarm should have a silence button instead of disabling the whole unit. A silence button is a temporary measure and when the alarm is triggered the alarm will sound again. Silence buttons present in a fire alarm is not a factor of concern. As for digital carbon monoxide detectors they are important for the home’s safety and display the level and concentration of carbon monoxide.
